Four Candles

Last Saturday, Kim and I headed into Oxford town to purchase him a swishy new 30th birthday outfit. The wardrobe in our room betrays the current clothing balance in our marriage; my section is twice the size, requires twice the hangers etc (though our backpacks weighed the same on the way over… I packed clothes, Kim packed electronics).

We filled up on brunch at a classy establishment, the Four Candles, where the tables were sticky with last nights beer and the meals were cheap and large. Hurrah!

I heart haribo. Lizzie brought Kim some packs for his birthday and last night we munched our way through an entire packet of stripes. Kylie warned me to stay away from the sweets here and now I understand. Addiction city.

Thirty on the thirtieth

It was Kim’s birthday on Saturday and we had a blast! Pancakes, friends, dinner and cake. The best.

We should just have pancakes for Kim’s birthday now…

Lizzie at 1:17am - several hours after we should have gone to bed, from the depths of the couch. Soon followed by the question ‘do you know what a badger looks like?”

I'm all out of words

I have been banging my head against a 3000 word essay all week, but wanted to share these photos. The wind was tearing the leaves off the trees today and they were blowing about like confetti. I don’t remember such vivid Autumn colours in NZ, but maybe I just wasn’t looking. Kumiko told me that Japan is off the scales awesome in Autumn. I would like to see that one day.
